Charity Humm L.C.P.

Charity holds a Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Regent University. Formerly in Ohio, she was part of a group practice where she had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients – children, individuals, couples and families. She is now a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois, and is interested in resourcing clients with coping mechanisms and mindfulness skills that they can use to discover and integrate positive adaptive change within the context of their daily lives.

She enjoys using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Skills Training, and Person Centered Therapy when working with clients. She is also trained in a trauma focused modality called EMDR, which is an excellent tool for helping clients heal from trauma issues. It is Charity's belief that our bodies-minds-souls possess an innate capacity toward healing, and as we invite and welcome this call in our lives, we find ourselves on the path towards our own inner healing – eventually we may notice ways to not only survive, but to thrive at this thing called life!

When Charity is not waxing philosophical, she enjoys spending time with her three boys and husband - all of whom keep her centered and fill her life with humor and creativity.
